255: Overseas, Germany, Hannover, Seelze, & Lehrte, 26/08/09

I had an early start as I was moving down from Hamburg to Frankfurt, via Hannover. I had a quick trip out to Seelze on route, which although very busy, isn't particularly good for photos as it's just a footbridge over the freight yard. After this I went across the other side of Hannover to Lehrte as I'd seen plenty of good photos from here. The station itself is a bit of a tangle of weeds, trees, and masts, but there are some good photo opportunities providing the sun is in the right direction, and you're in the right place at the right time. It's probably a better location in the spring before the weeds have started growing, I'm over 6 foot and some of the plantlife on the north end of the platform was taller than me!

Super power for a northbound steel train. 185158 & 182007 approach the station with this very well loaded service	155008 comes round the curve at the south end of the station with this late afternoon mixed freight	"VPS" branded 185519 & 185530 double head a northbound coal train	202271 heads a westbound train of bogie flats through Lehrte. This loco also carries the number 203226!
"DB Cargo" 152006 heads a westbound train of bogie hoppers	More westbound bogie hoppers, this time hauled by 152170	218455 in the bright early evening sun with an RE commuter service	Looking rather faded, 140013 heads a southbound mixed freight through the station
182018 rounds the curve at the south end of the station with a long mixed freight	This GM loco has a plain black livery with no visible markings or numbers other than the piece of paper in the cab window with 6615 on!	Finally arrived at Frankfurt as 1116081 prepares to leave with an overnight service
